Hey, it’s Jana!
Before I dive into my work history, I’d love for you to get to know me a bit better! I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, and in between I spent a brief time in Canada. Later, I moved to Lebanon to pursue my degree in Nutrition & Dietetics, where I became a licensed dietitian. I later moved to the United Kingdom to study Food Science and pursued my Masters degree at the University of Reading. I am currently living in Dubai! I have a passion for traveling, sports, and acting (which, by the way, I probably would have loved to pursue as a career!).
Work Background
The driving force behind my passion for food safety came after a tragedy—my aunt passed away due to foodborne illness from a restaurant. This heartbreaking event became the reason for my mission to raise awareness about food safety, nutrition, and the critical importance of proper food handling practices.
In 2009, I worked for the United Nations, supporting small businesses in developing their food safety systems and food labelling regulations to enable exports beyond their borders.
Between 2012 and 2023, I had the privilege of working with multinational food and beverage companies, as well as educational institutions, as a Food Safety & Quality Management professional. I specialize in delivering strategic training on HACCP and customer journey steps for the food and beverage industry, auditing food suppliers, and managing food safety programs that comply with ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 standards. My work has spanned improving food safety practices across the Middle East to educating the next generation of food service professionals an instructor at the American University of Beirut.

Food Safety & Quality Management Professional
Building on my passion for food, I pursued a career as a Food Safety & Quality Management professional, accumulating years of experience in food science and nutrition. My journey in the food industry, however, took a more personal turn after a tragedy—my aunt passed away due to food safety poisoning in a restaurant.
